The European Union (EU) in Belize is pleased to present the 2025 EU Creative Arts Competition. This competition offers a unique platform for all people living in Belize to express their creativity while reflecting on critical human rights and social issues through dance, music, and visual arts.

Respect for human dignity and human rights, freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law are the fundamental values of the European Union and what inspired the establishment of the EU Creative Arts Competition in 2023.This year’s competition theme is:

“Human Rights/Empowering Communities & Combating Violence”

Empowered communities are the cornerstone of a just society, where human rights
are upheld and discrimination has no place. The European Union advocates for
gender equality, standing firmly against all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.

This theme invites you to explore how communities can unite to combat violence and discrimination, creating spaces that protect and uplift everyone, especially vulnerable or marginalized groups.

Through this competition, the EU seeks to contribute to promoting creative expression, while amplifying Belize’s rich artistic talent and fostering reflection and dialogue on key human rights and social issues.
